Eudon Choi’s woman is confident, she loves a good suit, a pragmatic shoe and an understated bag. This season’s show did not disappoint! For his spring summer 19 collection Eudon Choi touched on the sense of unraveling – an ease and sensuality that comes across from the beautiful draped cotton and silk dresses, combined with loose and light tailoring. A collaboration with Decke provided a selection of perfectly formed bags filled with citrus fruits transporting you the to Mediterranean and beyond. Drawing inspiration from the artist Ivan da Silva Bruhs known his intricate carpet weaving during the French deco period, and the modernist Indian Palace of Manik Bagh, (Garden of Rubies) built in 1934, by architect Eckart Muthesius, Eudon Choi continues this conversation about borderless design, presenting a collection that has its roots everywhere and nowhere simultaneously. Craft and modernity are fused together with Eudon’s own carpet weave dress, and light summer checks. This collection would work in the heat of the urban sprawl as much as it would in sun kissed coastline and for all the summer adventures in between.
